We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Programme Associate, Community Health and HIV

Role Purpose
  • To assist those responsible for managing and supporting Christian Aid partnerships and programmes and to support the effective disbursement of funds to Christian Aid partners working on the programme.
  • To contribute towards the smooth administration of the programme working mainly within the country office team but may have frequent contact with external partners in the course of his/her work.
  • To support monitoring, communications and fundraising including from institutional donors.
Role Context
  • The role is within the International Programmes role family positioned within the Community Health and HIV programme department of the Nigeria country office.
  • The role is key in providing support to Christian Aid and its Africa Division through Nigeria programme’s partnerships, to ensure they are managed and developed effectively.
Key Outcome:
  • Improved management of programme reports (collating and compiling programmatic reports - partners and meetings, in accordance with Christian Aid’s framework implemented within the country office.
  • Information provided for production of reports for institutional donors, project files maintained, partner’s visits and team meetings.
  • Contribution made to other team members in the development and implementation of partner capacity building and training.
  • Strong relationships developed through regular communication between partners and Christian Aid.
  • All administration regarding grant approvals and transfers to partners and emergency support work in accordance with Christian Aid policies and procedures. May also include support to the programme team with documentation for consultation and learning events, policy papers, reports and other programme related documents.

  • The role is line managed by a Programme Officer/Coordinator

  • The ability to make day to day decisions to assist in the administration and smooth running of partnerships and programmes.

Person Specification
Applied Skills/Knowledge and Expertise:

Education and Qualification:
  • First degree in Social Sciences or any related field
Knowledge Required:
  • Relative knowledge of supporting programmes and programme staff in either international or national NGOs
  • Basic skills in monitoring and evaluation including report writing.
