Job Description

Before Contract award
  • Assistance to contract documents finalization.
  • Identification of any optimization / improvement in the FEED dossier to be implemented in the concept both in engineering dossier and LLI equipment design.
  • Possible participation in meetings with selected contractor.
  • Follow up of possible anticipated studies or activities.
  • Possible participation in meetings with vendors.

During Project Execution phase
  • Lead and animate the COMPANY mechanical engineers team on both project locations (Lagos and Korea offices).
  • Ensure a continuous interface follow-up related to COMPANY LLI equipment between Vendors and Contractor.
  • Follow-up of detailed engineering & construction development activities related to rotating equipment design development for entire FPSO rotating equipment (Topsides and Hull). This includes the review and comment of engineering and vendor documentations to ensure compliance with design dossier,
  • SOR, Company specifications, corporate standard and HSE regulation, international codes, BV and SOLAS applicable rules.
  • Monitor the performance of the Contractor. Initiate and implement corrective actions when the performance of the Contractor deviates from what is expected.
  • Review and analyze Contractor’s work progress, and coordinate with Project Planning Engineer to ensure timely completion of critical path activities. Advise regularly Project Management team about the discipline situation.
  • Monitor engineering, procurement, construction, expediting, Factory Acceptable Test (FAT) for discipline related activities. Participate with Contractor to progress meetings and to the inspections at vendors' plants when/as required.
  • Review and comment Contractor & Vendors documents in due time. Ensure the COMPANY team
  • topside and hull workload and return of COMPANY comments in due time.
  • Report regularly the discipline status to engineering and project management for both topside and hull scopes.
  • Provide recommendations on spare parts.
  • Review vendors’ progress reports and instigate remedial actions where necessary.
  • Review vendors’ proposed technical deviations and coordinate proper technical/quality review, approval and response. Coordinate with DEV/TEC specialists in HQ when required.
  • Identify problem areas in project execution and propose corrective actions to project management team.
  • Review and analyze contractor planning of engineering & construction for discipline activities.
  • Promote and ensure an effective implementation of SSHE rules and procedures under his field of responsibility.
  • Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on all engineering, and with Field Ops group on operational matters (in particular with LLIs items integration).
  • Manage & attend regular follow-up meetings with contractors, LLIs suppliers and main package vendors, when required.
  • Provide technical answers to technical queries related to rotating equipment issues.
  • Ensure that relevant feedback/REX from previous FPSOs are considered in the design performance.
  • Ensure that design is standardized across the EGINA FPSO and in line with AKPO and USAN FPSO.
  • Assist to resolve technical clarifications raised during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Following up of field engineering modifications as relevant.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 - 10 year experience as Lead Engineer in mechanical engineering rotating field in Oil and Gas activities e.g. turbines, compressors, motors, generators, and etc.).
  • Strong engineering knowledge in the rotating equipment (e.g. turbines, compressors, generators, motors, associated parts, layout and etc.) codes & standards and offshore commissioning.
  • Experience in FPSO, or offshore facilities, is preferred.
  • Available for technical missions worldwide.
  • Familiar with Total GS.
  • Language: Fluent English.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong leadership skills and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
  • Good analytical skills.
