Job Description
  • The Enterprise Coordinator is the pivotal role in Hub’s programme and critical to achieving its aim of motivating, inspiring and supporting young people in making informed choices about their future and help them achieve those choices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Encourage innovation:
  • Work with the Practice Groups and Industry Groups to identify new products and services and new ways of delivering legal services
  • Provide support for innovators by connecting them with people who can help bring their innovation to market (specialists within other legal disciplines, representatives from Business Services: IT, BD, Strategy, KM)
  • To support the development and sharing of resources and best practice with the Enterprise Adviser Network through case studies, newsletters and other informal means of communication
  • Raise the profile of the programme locally through all available channels e.g. through interaction with students, social media and posters.
  • Convene and facilitate meetings and workshops for innovation champions and tech savvy junior associates (voluntary) to generate new ideas
  • Organise events to build on the innovation culture.
Communicate Innovation:
  • Communicate Innovation Hub progress to the wider Firm (social media, bulletin, video)
  • To support the capturing of data for measurement and evaluation purposes and reporting procedures for key stakeholders
  • Speak with clients about innovation and learn from and with them.
Manage Innovation:
  • Build a team to work in the Innovation Hub
  • Focus everyone’s efforts on programmes and activities that are most effective in motivating incubators, supporting independent choice, and supporting positive outcomes for incubators
  • Manage all protocol for testing and qualification of viability of new components and finished product coming from the Innovation team.
  • Approach external partners for collaboration: academics, entrepreneurs, external funders, legal tech start-ups
  • Conduct primary and secondary due diligence to support Innovation research and validation from initial brief through commercialization. Provide data and intel to guide key concepts through the readiness process
  • Consider innovative activities at other firms, professional services, clients and industries to ensure the firm is at the cutting edge
  • To build effective working relationships with key organisations, including funders and delivery partners
  • Devise and manage system for submission of innovative ideas and methodology for selection of ideas to support; manage and measure success; report regularly on progress
  • Manage the innovation budget: a combination of cash funding and time credits for those working on projects from within the firm
  • Manage the Innovation Hub space: bookings, facilitation of sessions (as required)
Requisite Education and Experience
  • 3+ years Project Management experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for both local and global discussions regarding product engineering and project management.
  • Strong organizational skills are a must.
  • The person must be capable of making sound, logical decisions based on Innovation short and long term goals.
  • Capable of working independently within the context of established research protocol
  • Employment Terms
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrable understanding of the issues and barriers to employment faced by young people
  • Experience of record keeping, preparing reports and being able to evidence outputs and outcomes of initiatives in line with compliance and auditing requirements for all programmes.
  • Demonstrable appreciation of what motivates young people
  • An understanding of relevant local and national policy relating to skills and economic development
  • Working closely with the finance team to ensure all funding claims are recorded accurately and evidenced in line with budget requirements.
  • Able to present information clearly and concisely both in written reports and in verbal presentations
  • An ability to persevere and drive a project to completion.
  • Ability to understand the needs of / constraints on employers and the self-employed and to support them effectively.
  • Understanding the determinants of human performance and the specific activities for which the product is intended.
  • Some experience of volunteer management
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a group.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writte.
