Job Description
  • The Innovation Hub Manager is a full-time position that requires an energetic, collaborative and forward-thinking individual to manage daily operations including facilities management and programming, who is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Organization’s policies and projects.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and recruit new Innovation Centre tenants, co-workers, renters, community.
  • Maintain full occupancy of the creative workspaces and enterprise office spaces;
  • Build and grow a solid membership for the co-working spaces;
  • Develop community initiatives designed to create connections between members, including member introductions, overseeing events, electronic and print communications, and building walkthroughs.
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships to further develop opportunities for creative spaces and small business enterprise
  • Work closely with area educational institutions and Small Business Development Corporation to develop relationships with innovators and entrepreneurs to encourage and support new business start-ups.
  • Identify opportunities to capitalize on both existing and new opportunities within the community to provide resources and a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators.
  • Produce comprehensive quality control reports that allow all stakeholders to improve the member experience.
  • To manage, oversee and direct all aspects of the Hub’s operation including letting, memberships, finance, sales, marketing, and events.
  • To create a collaborative environment amongst our members through events and personal introductions in line with profit objectives.
  • To maintain 100% occupancy, achieve sales target goals, and manage churn.
  • To ensure that workspaces are fully operational and processes are running smoothly.
  • To maximise the Hub’s revenue by implementing attentive cost control measure.
  • Develop and manage programs to promote creative, innovative ideas.
  • Establish process that support the day-to-day management operations of the hub and enable fully functional 24/7 activity.
  • Provide strategic input in areas such as operating policy, incubation strategy, business planning, marketing and financial budget preparation.
  • Project Manage the all building design related matters.
  • Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures for building management and operation.
  • Coordinate with the hub Finance Department on all matters relating to invoicing and credit control.
  • Coordinate fundraising efforts with Board of Directors and the Executive Director to develop new sponsorship opportunities and increase current commitments.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Innovation Centre, including repairs, equipment, and supplies within budget guidelines
  • Prepare regular management reports and presentations for the Board of the hub.
  • To be a firm but friendly leader who sparks enthusiasm within the enterprise and creative members community.
  • AND such other duties as are within the scope and the spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post and its grading.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent and / or a relevant professional qualification
  • Over 3 years’ experience in managing and operating technology related facilities
  • Experience and/or education in relevant areas such as facilities management, planning, entrepreneurship, event management, volunteer management, use of social media, marketing.

  • Be energetic and self-driven
  • Be able to think logically and clearly, and exhibit strong problem solving abilities
  • A head for figures, margins, budgets, and revenue
  • Good attention to detail with an ability to see the bigger picture
  • Demonstrate intermediate project management abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
  • Demonstrate ability to set individual work plans and manage time and work with limited supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit a collaborative and team-oriented spirit
  • Collaborate with senior management, working with them to effectively execute strategies and projects.
  • Ability to: operate at a very high level; negotiate effectively; work to deadlines; maintain strong customer service focus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to effectively manage staff resources
  • Ability to collaborate with co-workers and community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in development efforts.
