Summary
BoP Innovation Center (BoPInc) Since 2010 the BoP Innovation Center (BoPInc) facilitates pro-poor innovative business strategies. The aim is to include people in low-income markets in enterprises as producers and consumers. We provide business consultancy services and work with a strong network of partners in the public and private sectors.

Since the end of 2012, we are implementing the 2SCALE program together with our partner IFDC, and as of 2019 also with SNV. 2SCALE is one of the largest agribusiness incubators in Africa, working with farmers and entrepreneurs in 8 different countries. 2SCALE builds networks that connect farmers, buyers and intermediaries, enabling them to create and grow new businesses, through providing technical assistance and brokering partnerships with financial institutions and business support services.

Job Descriptions

• We want to expand our team in Nigeria for our 2SCALE program. Therefore we are looking  for a BoP Marketing Officer, who will be focusing on BoP consumer marketing activities. The position will be based in Ibadan or Abuja.

Your Roles and Main Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, monitoring and reporting of BoP consumer marketing strategies with local SMEs and farmer organizations in Nigeria.
• Provide regular, monthly reports on the progress and the impact of the BoP marketing activities to the project manager in the Netherlands and 2SCALE country lead in Nigeria.
• Provide a report indicating learnings and recommendations for further scale up.
• In close cooperation with the communication officer, you will draft communication materials (blogs, news articles) on interesting lessons/experiences derived from the marketing pilots

Qualifications & Requirements

• At least Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration. Candidates with a background in International Development or Development Economics could also qualify if they can proof work experience in marketing.
• 3-5 year work experience, preferably in a consumer marketing position with a larger company, or in a marketing position with a private-sector focused NGO.
• Experience in developing and managing marketing and distribution strategies towards (rural) BoP markets.
• Interest in and knowledge of business development and international cooperation with affinity of the Base of the Pyramid markets, preferably in relation to agri&food sector
• Enthusiastic, goal-oriented person able to work independently on own tasks
• Comfortably fitting in with young, small and international team based in several continents
• Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills, good command of at least one other local language is a plus
• Willingness to travel for short-term project assignments around Nigeria and occasionally international travels for team meetings.
