We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Budget Controller

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Permanent

Job Description

The Budget Controller will be required to:

Have a thorough understanding of the company's budget and its chart of accounts
Act as a cost controller for procurement activities prior to management signature of purchase orders by verifying if requested materials or services fall within the approved budget and under designated categories
Verify all petty cash expenses spent and check the corresponding budget category for each paid expense
Report any budget breaches or deviations in petty cash expenses to the CFO
Post approved monthly budget on the company's ERP (Navision) and create a monthly comparison variation schedule to be submitted to the CFO
Monitor and understand projects progress and advise for budget amendments if needed
Act as an individual unit reporting to CFO & assist the Accounting department whenever requested to

Qualifications, Skills/Competences

University Degree in Finance or Accounting
Related professional qualifications
IFRS Certifications required
At least five (5) years of experience in mid to senior-level finance or accounting position
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects.
