University of Lagos - Founded in 1962, the University of Lagos has, for over 5 decades, provided qualitative and research-oriented education to Nigerians and all those who have entered its domain in search of knowledge. At its inception, the University of Lagos was empowered to produce a professional workforce that would steer the political, social and economic development of a newly independent country.

The University began with three faculties: Commerce and Business Administration, Law and Medicine. The faculties of Arts, Education, Engineering and Science were added in 1964.

Job Description

The Research Office

• The newly established Research Office of the University is conceptualised as a globally-oriented office with a mandate to reposition and respond to new and emerging trends in research in the University.

The objectives of the Unit of the Office include:

Research Development Unit

• Intensification of research activities across the University.
• Coordination of multidisciplinary research activities.
• Sourcing research grants from local and international agencies.
• Effective administration of grant and research activities.

Qualifications

• Candidate for the post of Senior Research Fellow must posses a good first degree and a Ph.D or its equivalent in any relevant field of specialisation in the Sciences or Humanities from a recognised University with not less than Seven (7) years of research experience in a University or comparable Research Institute.
• Candidate must be able to initiate and develop research ideas, write proposals and must possess administrative experience.
• Candidate's ability to attract funding and grants from international agencies will be an added advantage.
• Evidence of several scholarly publications in learned journals is also required.

Salary and Allowance

• Senior Research Fellow CONUASS 5 (N1,653,415.00 - N2,348,299.00) per annum.
