Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso Admission into Part-Time Degree Programmes for the 2013 / 2014 Academic Session

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso - Applications are hereby invited from qualified candidates into the Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in the Directorate of Part-Time Programme of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso for the 2013/2014 Academic Session.

A.) Bachelor’s Degree Programmes
Five (5) year Duration
(i) BSc Accounting

(ii) B.Sc. Transport Management

Admission Requirements for (i) and (ii) above
Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other relevant subjects, Commerce may be acceptable in lieu of Economics for BSc. Accounting and Geography for Transport Management.

(iii) B.Sc Computer Science
Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess at least (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics Chemistry, Biology

(iv) BSc Science Laboratory Technology
Admission requirements
Candidates must possess at least Five (5) O level Credit passes in English
Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in WAEC / NECO, SSCE, GCE or their equivalent.

(v) Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc)
Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In addition, candidates should possess the following:
Registered Nurse Certificate (RN) and Registered Midwife Certificate (RM) or Registered Nurse Certificate plus RPN with at least five (5) years post-registration experience.

B.) Four (4) year duration

• B.Sc. Accounting
• B.Sc. Transport Management
• B.Sc. Computer Science
• B.Sc. Science Laboratory Technology

Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings. Other ‘O’ Level requirements as stated in A above apply In addition to the ‘O’ level qualification(s), candidates must have at least National Diploma with Upper Credit in relevant disciplines from a recognized Polytechnic.

(iii) B.Sc. Computer Science

Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings. Other ‘0 Level’ requirements as stated in (A iii) above. In addition to the ‘O’ level qualification(s), candidates must have:

• Good passes at Advance Level of GCE (or equivalent) in Pure Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or the Combined Pure Applied Mathematics and Physics; and any other subjects from the following: Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Geogray or;
• National Diploma with Upper Credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology and University Diploma of LAUTECH and any other relevant discipline from a recognised Polytechnic or;
• Passes in Intermediate Level of Computer Professionals (Registration) Council of Nigeria or any other recognised Professional Bodies or;
• Third Class Degree in a Science-based discipline may also be considered fr admission.

(iv) B.Sc Science Laboratory Technology (SLT)
In addition to A (iv) above, candidates may be admitted for Four (4) year training leading to the award of B.Sc (SLT) in Science Laboratory Technology, if they possess any of the following:
Ordinary National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology and other related Science-based Courses (Upper Credit), National Certificate of Education (NCE) in Biology/Chemistry Integrated Science, Health Education, Physics, and other related science-based discipline (not lower than Credit).

(C) Three (3) year duration

• B.Sc. Accounting
• BSc. Transport Management
• B.Sc. Computer Science
• B.Sc. Science Laboratory Technology

Admission Requirements; for (i) and (ii)
Applicants must possess at least Five (5) Credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings in ‘0’ level subject listed in A(i) and (ii) above. Candidate must also posses the following;

• HND Upper Credit in relevant disciplines
• HND lower Credit plus relevant Professional Qualifications

Admission Requirements for (iii)

• Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized Polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology or any other relevant disciplines may also be considered,’
• Passes in final level (equivalent of full membership) of Computer Professionals (Registration) Council of Nigeria or any other recognized professional bodies.
• Candidates in every category above must obtain Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC and or NECO as stated in A(iii).

Admission Requirement for (iv)
Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology, Fisheries Technology, Animal Science, Health Technology and other Science-based related discipline with at least Lower Credit. Professional Registration will be an added advantage.

Candidates are expected to register on the University website, www.lautech.edu.ng  by completing and submitting the on-line application form and E-mail address
In completing the on-line application form, candidates are required to upload a scanned passport photograph with white background showing ears, no cap and no glasses. The scanned passport photograph must be in JPEG (i.e. jpg) and must not be more than 20kb. On submission of the application form, candidates are to print out Referee Form and an acknowledgement page which will give them access to venue of the Entrance Examination.

Note:
All academic programmes advertised are run on Part-Time basis in LAUTECH Main Campus, Ogbomoso and at the University’s College of Health Sciences (Mercy Land), Osogbo, i.e. on weekends only (Fridays, Saturdays and sometimes on Sunday) except BNSc (Nursing) that is run on daily basis for a specific period.
