The company has a wholly-owned subsidiary, Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) Limited, which provides shipping services for NLNG and Nigeria LNG Ship Manning Limited which provides personnel for all of NLNG’s Vessels. Job Title: Consultant Anaesthetist/ Emergency Care Physician

The Job:
The appointee will be required to efficiently deliver cost-effective general and specialist medical care to eligible staff, dependants, contractors and third parties in line with company policy to sustain a healthy and productive workforce.

The appointment will be for an initial 5 year period with possible renewal.

The Duties:
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide general and specialist medical care to NLNG staff, dependants and other entitled stakeholders
• Perform clinical assessment for fitness and provision of anaesthesia services during surgical operations.
• Provide intensive care to critically ill patients and also adequate pain relief to patients.
• Provide medical emergency, evacuation and resuscitation services.
• Support the training and coordination of the activities of the Medical Emergency Response Team for effective emergency services.
• Provide job specific medical examinations to certain types of workers exposed to special risks
• Perform Medical screening for all staff, including pre-overseas and pre-transfer medical examinations.
• Provide specialist anaesthesiology and general inputs towards the development of procedures and protocols for optimization of anaesthetic and general medical services in NLNG.
• Conduct health promotion programmes to improve the overall health and well-being of the workforce
• Ensure the suitability, availability and serviceability of all anaesthetic and other general medical equipment needed to deliver routine and specialist care.

Qualification/Experience
The right candidate should:

• Possess MBBS with either FFA, FMCA or FWACS or their equivalents and be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
• Have a minimum of 10 years post MBBS working experience, 5 of which should have been in the area of specialty as a consultant in a standard hospital.
• Possess strategic and motivational leadership skills.
• Maintain high professional standards, discipline and communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external parties.
• Be a good team player, with ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Be Computer Literate
• Not be more than 50 years old as at 31st December, 2014.
