News: NYSC Online Registration

NYSC - Director General of the National Youth Service Corps Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi has asked Nigerians to embrace the newly introduced online registration policy as it will help curb irregularities.

He said this in Abuja yesterday while briefing the directorate staff of the scheme on the sensitisation of prospective corps members about the full computerization of the mobilization process. He said the new system would end mobilization of unqualified people for youth service, lack of proper record of mobilized persons, strenuous registration by corps members in camp and service evasion by unscrupulous corps members.

He said prospective corps members would pay N4,000 for online registration so that could sit at their comforts and get registered
rather than travel to their various institutions to get their call-up letters. He noted that though the new policy was optional for this year's Batch 'C' corps members, it would be compulsory from next year.

He also disclosed that staff promotion examinations also would be done online from next year.
