Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) is one of the three specialised universities of agriculture established by the Federal government of Nigeria in 1992. The University is located in the well-kown agricultural training and research community of Umudike in the south Eastern zone of Nigeria. it lies between longitude 7 degrees and 7 degrees 05'E and latitude 5degrees 25'N. MOUAU's site is a rural agricultural based community and this brings to greater focus the role of the university as one specializing in agriculture and related disciplines. very good understanding has been developed between the University and the host communities and there is currently easy extension of research findings to these communities for the improvement of their farming practices and methods.
MOUAU - Applications are invited (on-line) from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions:

This is just the beginning of another academic rottenness in Nigeria. Why should a university demand a sum of money from applicants? I want to ask, is this university recruiting for all south east universities? Let the principal officers of MOUAU tell Nigeria how they can employ 2000 people in the second level in the university. Even if there is no single senior hands in the institution advertising for 2000 academic positions is not realistic considering the current Nigeria financial condition. It may be the university wanted to increase her IGR to be able to pay the salaries of her workers. I may be wrong!

A University with corrupt management. They have never been realistic in their decisions. Last time they conducted interview they took only their brothers and sisters. There is no respect for merit in moua. It is only who you know. There is no problem- it is only time that will tell the seeds we have sown.

Having seen your posting, what of Education courses and its related disciplines? e.g: Curriculum, management, sociology, e.t.c. Moreover, what you need is just Proffessors and senior lecturers. What is the fate of fresh masters degree holders? Thanks.

What a massive recruitment indeed but its so unfortunate that these vacancies are only mearnt for academic staffs alone with no option for non academic administrators.

I am so dissapointed by what is happening across the Country with Govt doing noting to nip it in the bud. Its now obvious dat when d head is rotten, diffinitely, d whole body is heading for certain destruction. Everywhere is now stinking with corruption. Imigration stampede, road safety fraudulent plate no and drivers licence, Nepa fraudulent bill. Even in NYSC, where u want to go and serve ur nation, u still have to buy scratch card. Afterall, our president said stealing is nt corruption. God help us.

ref: " The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, online Job Application system"
3000 naira employment processing fee is senseless and must be condemned! Where on earth is employment processing fee demanded from potential applicants. The institution, in this case is hunting for MSc and Ph.D. holders with academic experience ranging from 2 - 10 years. This is not the global practice but rather a practice that is reduces the human person. I ask, what is the rationale for transfering application processing cost to potential empployees. lack of funds on what? It does not speak well of the human resource management capacity of the institution. This is a big fraud and I seek that the University governing council and National University Commission calls the institution to order. An instituion that is knowledge driven hunts for manpower. Wise instituions follow the human centred employment path because of the long term benefit. Has Nigeria become so bad that experts with Ph.D. would be price so low. I guess there is something wrong somewhere and has to be investigated. Those who know their worth would not apply to an institution that is already extorting money from them in the name of processing fee. It depicts poverty of the mind.
