The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) - Kogi State is one of the nine newly established Federal Universities in Nigeria. The University was established in February 2011 and it commenced academic activities in the 2012/2013 session. FUL is located in Lokoja, Kogi State, Central Nigeria, about 160 kilometres from Abuja, the nation's capital. It is a conventional University that intends to excel in its academic and research activities to compete with other universities worldwide.

Job Description

• The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
• Candidates for the post shall be visionary and have the ability to provide good leadership; possess personal integrity and demonstrate transparency in private and public life; and be able to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the University.

Qualification and Experience
The criteria to be satisfied by candidates for this post are as follows:

• Must possess a good honours degree or equivalent in Accounting from a recognized institution, possession of higher degree(s) is an added advantage;
• Must be a qualified member of any professional body such as ICAN,
• ACCA, ANAN;
• Must have minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience in. public service;
• Must have attained the rank of a Deputy Bursar, or its equivalent in a University;
• Must have demonstrable competence in Information Communication Technology with a working knowledge of relevant accounting packages;
• Must be able to provide sound financial and administrative leadership.

Conditions of Service
The conditions of service for the position of the Bursar are as obtainable in Federal Universities in Nigeria. Salary and allowances are as applicable to principal officers in Federal Universities.
The tenure of the office of the University Bursar is a non-renewable single- term of five (5) years.
