Role Summary/Purpose

In this role, the Market Development Manager: Leads, coordinates and manages the Rural Healthcare Go-To-Market strategy and designs the market development and sales approach for Africa: Go-To-Market to support sales and marketing activities, understands and builds the rural healthcare modality solutions based on market needs, positions the value and super value healthcare product/solution in designated local customer territories in Africa.

Essential Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Achieve all GE Healthcare sales objectives: orders, revenue, and contribution margin
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to drive growth in the market
  • Cultivating and leveraging customer relationships and working with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Development of long-term customer relationships through the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities that immediately satisfy customer needs
  • Ensuring seamless teamwork and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to provide total customer satisfaction.
  • Deploying resources to meet financial / operating objectives
  • Managing aspects of the sales approach for the designated territory including training and working with the modality teams
  • Train, and develop personnel to optimize effectiveness.
  • Utilizes skills to execute the rural healthcare marketing plan incorporating the product portfolio in assigned region. Responsibilities include VOC gathering, collaboration, targeting and positioning to align messaging, tactics, commercial channel tools and execution for sales success.
  • Key contributor to the Product/Region SII process with the goal of achieving growth and market share objectives. Collaborates with sales, marketing and modalities to develop the regional market forecast as well as the orders forecast for the market segment.
  • Works with Marketing to develop and execute plans. Responsible for capturing and reporting upon relevant metrics.
  • Develops the appropriate channels and access to the market (both direct and indirect)
  • Develops programs to gather regional evidence of customer success, early adopters, show sites, and clinical evidence where appropriate
  • Provides regional input to business cases for products/upgrades that are at concept stage, work with marketing, modalities to develop, test and prototype new rural healthcare product and market ideas
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree / MBA
  • Minimum of 8 years sales/marketing/product management experience
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as a part of a solution-based sales process
  • Previous experience successfully managing high volume sales
  • Strong communication skills to synthesize complex issues and communicate into simple messages
  • Willingness and ability to travel within your specified geographic region
  • To the extent you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned/leased, privately owned/leased or rental vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record
