Principal / Chief Executive at Petroleum Training Institute (PTI)

The Petroleum Training Institute, (PTI), located in Effurun near Warri, Delta State was set up with the objective of providing courses of instruction, training and research in oil and gas technology and to provide technicians and such other personnel normally required for the Oil and Gas Industry

The Governing Council of the Institute hereby invites applications from suitably qualified Nigerians to fill the vacant position in the Institute:

Responsibilities

• The Principal is the Chief Executive Officer responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Institute and the successful achievement of its objectives.
• The Principal reports to the Institute Governing Council.

Qualification and Experience

• Must possess at least a Masters degree in either Engineering or Science field. The possession of a higher degree such as Ph.D will be an added advantage.
• Must be a member of any relevant professional body
• Must have a minimum of 20 years cognate experience, 10 of which should be in the Oil / Gas and Allied industry and five years in managerial position. Experience in the academic institution will be an added advantage.
• Must show evidence of scholarly publications in national and international journals.
• Should have entrepreneurial drive and ability to attract funds, research grants and mobilise other resources for the development of the Institute.
• Should demonstrate good ability to establish and sustain partnership with the Oil/Gas industry and other critical public sector stakeholders.
• Should demonstrate good ability and knowledge of Information and Communication Technology.
• Must be aware and sensitive to the fast changing training needs of the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Must be a courageous team builder/player and have ability to manage a multi cultural and diverse academic community
• Should have a clearly defined strategy for the achievement of the Institute's vision
• Should not be more than 55 years of age

Terms of Appointment and Condition of Service

• The appointment of the Principal/Chief Executive is for a term of four years in the first instances and renewable subject to satisfactory performance for another four (4) years and no more.
• The remuneration is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy other benefits as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government.
