The University of Port Harcourt is one of the Second Generation Universities established in 1975. It is a Federal Government-owned institution that runs a multiple campus system namely: Choba, Delta and University Parks.

The University of Port Harcourt Sports Institute (PSI) is an International Sports institution established in 2011 through collaboration between the University of Port Harcourt, National and International Sports Institutes and academics in partnership with sports industries. It awards internationally recognized degrees and professional certification.

Qualifications and Experience

• The right Candidate for the job must possess a degree in Medicine from a recognized institution and registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), with at least 15 years post-qualification experience, 5 years of which must be as a Deputy Director.
• The right candidates for the vacant position listed above must have verifiable track records of competence, responsiveness, demonstrable integrity and transparency, ability to work in a team and be able to function with minimum supervision.
• In addition, the preferred candidates must possess excellent communication skills, and be in good health to be able to endure the rigors of duty in a 21st century office environment.

Condition of Service
These are as applicable in the Federal Public Service and as may he appropriate in the Nigerian University System.
