Purpose:
This position focuses on helping the company reach its strategic corporate objectives by providing management and financial accounting, business analysis, controlling and treasury, tax, mergers and acquisitions and strategic business decisions to support operations and management team. The Candidate for this position is to team up with other Senior business leaders to ensure alignment of the responsibilities as indicated below to achieve the strategic corporate vision of the organization with year on year delivery of business targets.

 Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• You will be responsible for reviewing the commercial validity on all new business ventures and to identify new business opportunities for the company. Provides high quality business decision support to leadership team, providing input, support and challenge to the business stakeholders.
• Provide financial advice and support of investment and divestment proposals. Participate in Business Development Fund review.
• Stay up to date on relevant Legal and Fiscal changes in the countries of operations and leads implementation of changes.
• Provide proactive, effective, and fit-for-purpose solutions and constructive challenge for the reporting needs within the business environment.
• Provide input into financial strategies; develop the ‘investment case’ and the Investor Relations strategy jointly with COO and NBD Manager. Develop and maintain Business financial strategies, Policies, Processes and Standards while leading the development of, and maintain the Company Business risk profile.
• Define and maintain the Business Management Information System (MIS), prepare Business performance analysis report(s), offer advice to the Management team on non-compliance to business controls and financial regulations. Also provide the Board with Business financial data and information for sound business decision.
• Identify and manage financial issues that may affect the reputation of the Company while safeguarding corporate financial integrity.

Competencies Required:

• Demonstrated expertise in accounting principles with track record of practical application in Oil and Gas industry.
• Broad skill-set including knowledge of accounting principles and practices, business partnering skills and good understanding of reporting, compliance and organisational dynamics is essential.
• Exceptional analytical accounting skills, specifically in the areas of financial modelling analysis and reporting with extensive budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Ability to analyse and present complex data structure and processes in a concise and lucid manner.
• Expertise in development of corporate strategy, including business partnering with the Management team on all commercial matters and formulation of the annual budget and business plans.
• Proven experience in system skills, with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data and translate them into meaningful and insightful information, tailored to a large variety of users, both within and outside of Finance.
• Robust understanding and monitoring of controls and cost in alignment with organisation corporate objectives

Education:    
Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting    

Experience:    
ACA/ACCA with strong background in finance and minimum of 10 years of experience in a variety of Finance functions, with five (5) of those years in a management role within the upstream Oil and Gas Industry.
