CRS works through local church and non-church partners to implement its programs, therefore, strengthening and building the capacity of these partner organizations is fundamental to programs in every country in which CRS operates. CRS re-established presence in Nigeria in 2000 and currently focuses on vulnerable children, agriculture, health and HIV, extractives and governance, and peace building programming.

We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:

Job Context

CRS is a Sub-Recipient to Family Health International (FHI 360) on the Global Fund New Funding Model HIV Program in Nigeria.
The Program seeks to scale up gender sensitive HIV prevention services among children and adults in Nigeria.

Primary Function

Community mobilization for HCT and PMTCT
Advocacy and networking
Partnership and representation
Data generation

Job Responsibilities

Work closely with NEPHWAN and other GF-funded CBOs to ensure a coherence of approach in demand generation for HCT and PMTCT, and also establish positive working relationships with these CBOs, other implementing partners, and relevant government agencies.
Independently develop and implement strategies to increase project HCT and PMTCT coverage and ensure that project targets are achieved.
Carry out mapping exercises relating to PMTCT service delivery in order to identify potential clients and ensure the provision of HCT services to these identified clients. Ensure that an effective and documented referral system is in place at community level to link all positive clients to the GF-supported facilities.
Organize and carry out targeted advocacy visits to designated community stakeholders such as TBAs, women groups, traditional and religious leaders, and establish or sustain linkages between the project and these stakeholders.
Properly document all implemented activities and data gathered, and report same (both narrative and numbers) timely with given templates.
Develop a well-established, coherent and integrated referral system to CRS-managed facilities in the given communities.
Participate actively in the monthly cluster meetings, CBO coordination meetings and other meetings as required.
Other duties as may be assigned periodically.

Qualifications

A first degree in a relevant field such as Nursing, Community Health, Biological or Social Sciences.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HIV/AIDS, especially in community-based activities.
Able to work independently and efficiently within the state GF team, while interfacing closely with the entire team.
Good interpersonal skills, the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders, representatives, and partners in an ongoing basis and capable of establishing stronger and mutually beneficial links between CRS and our partners.
Strong English language communication skills, including written and verbal.
Strong assessment, organizational, analytical and planning skills.
Computer competency (MS Word & Excel) is essential
Ability to travel as much as 70% of the time within the assigned state.

Key Working Relationships:

Internal: S/he will report to the State Team Lead, and be expected to work in close collaboration with other state GF team members (Technical Specialist, M & E Officer) in the areas of demand generation, advocacy, partnership and data management.
External: S/he is expected to work closely with NEPWHAN and other CBOs funded by the Global Fund, other implementing partners involved in demand-generation activities, SACA, SASCP and other relevant government agencies.
