Key responsibilities of the role:
- As the Food Hygiene Officer, you will be an integral member of the Food & Beverage department, providing expertise and direction for all aspects of the Food & Beverage activities in line with the overall business strategy.
- You will inspect and supervise workplaces to ensure that workers and the public are protected from dangerous or unsafe conditions.
- You will inspect work spaces and machinery to verify that it is safe, and study the effects that businesses have on the surrounding environment.
- You will also implement the food and safety management systems, Maintain records of Food Safety and Hygiene related documentation;
- Conduct checks and hygiene audit on all food items, storage and food preparation areas;
- Conduct vendor inspection with the Purchasing and Executive Chef;
- Liaise with Pest Control Company for any pest issues in the operations area, and review the pest control performance;
- Works closely with the Learning and development Manager to conduct Food Handlers Training sessions.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Health or any related field
- At least 4 years experience in a similar post in a 5 stars hotel.
- Alcohol awareness certification and valid food handlers certification
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and quality.
- Good understanding of the Hotel Industry standards, policies and procedures
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
- Experience in high-end city operation with multi unit F&B and large Conference & Event
- Pre opening experience a strong plus
- Good understanding of the Nigerian/African business and operation environments and markets
- Service minded and ability to involve and support operations
