Job Title: Offshore Structural Lead (OFFSRTC-L)
Responsibilities
Lead the Offshore Structure Engineering activities in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in/out information flow.
Maintain and develop technical skills, expertise, knowledge, procedures and tools as required for proposals and project execution.
Analyse the complete scope of work and clearly identifies objectives of the discipline and internal/external interfaces.
Analyse the technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) in order to assess the scope of the studies required and the potential risks.
Set up and issue the necessary clarification requests during the proposal phase as well as the qualifications included in the bid.
Estimate quantities or validate estimation done by other specialist of the team.
Analyse the complete scope of work and clearly identifies objectives of the discipline and internal/external interfaces.
Analyse the project technical documents in order to validate consistency between the budget, resources and means allocated for the work completion and the targets to be met.
Make the Project Engineering Manager aware of the modifications or anticipated difficulties for meeting Client requirements.
Define and follow-up the planning of resources mobilization.
Supervise the activities of the Structural Designers.
Coordinate the engineering activities of the team members throughout the project with a permanent concern for optimization of quality, costs and schedule criteria.
Manage the different interfaces by coordinating the activities of the team with all the other stakeholders on the project (other engineering disciplines, project team, working sites, construction, installation, etc.)
Control the input data for the team activities and check/review all the documents issued by the team.
Supervise the writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations,
Inform on a permanent basis the Project Engineering Manager and if required the Project Manager of any foreseen technical or delay risk.
Deal with Third Party Authority when the certification process of offshore structure design is required.
Required Professional Skills
Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase.
Ability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work. Ability to perform and coordinate Project engineering; checks and review design documents, prepared either internally or by Vendors.
Ability to estimate Discipline Work Orders and Bid Projects engineering man-hours budget based on the Project quantities and scope of work.
Ability to monitor the relevant activity progress and the actual man-hours spent vs the earned progress.
Ability to write comprehensive technical reports with clear indication of basic data, assumptions, limitations, references, tracing of calculations, summary and conclusions.
Ability to plan assigned project team activities defining technical roles and tasks in order to handle Project scope of work.
Ability to estimate the needed number of resources and their skills in order to meet project milestones and targets.
Knowledge of Engineering planning and documentation deliverables in order to meet Project schedule milestones considering design workflows and engineering interfaces with all other Project Disciplines and functions.
Knowledge of main international Discipline standards, codes and regulations.
Detailed knowledge of Finite Elements calculation tools used for the verification of offshore structure.
Knowledge of key principles governing the management of a project, such as planning and control, contract change management, interface management, material procurement lifecycle, etc
Ability to define the Project general rules and guidelines for Discipline quantities estimation at the Projects execution phase according to corporate design standards, procedures, methods and tools.
Ability to control and ensure the correct application of the general rules and guidelines by all team members and all subcontractors involved in quantity definition activities.
Qualification and Experience
Good working knowledge and proficient in Aut0CAD or equivalent software as well as detailed Knowledge of tools related to 2D and 3D modeling activities.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Marine and Offshore Structure drafting (Structural & Pipelines) in Offshore Oil & Gas/Marine industry.
A Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
