Great Consulting - Our client is a reputable firm operating in Real Estate with offices in Lagos and other principal cities in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Accounts

Job Ref.: HD/11/18)
Location: Lagos
Department: Accounts
Reports to: Chief Finance Officer
Subordinates Supervised: Finance Manager, Accounts Officers, Treasury Officer.

Overall Purpose of the Job

• To maintain records of all financial transactions, provides relevant accounting information, monitor budgets and ensure the data from various departments is accurate.

Key Responsibilities and Accountability

• Ensure accounting information are posted daily and backup of the electronic data is carried out regularly and safe from un-authorized access
• Verify account schedules to confirm agreement with the transactions.
• Ensure the reconciliation of the banks statement are carried Out.
• Prepare the various books of accounts with respect of the various operations - i.e. all the departments
• Ensure all financial transactions are carried out in strict compliance with the accounting policies and procedures of the foundation
• Liaises with all operational departments with respect to their reports and statements of accounts.
• Cross check and process payments for all vouchers submitted for payment by departments, suppliers and other third parties.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget for units/departments.

Internal Relationship:

• interacts with all the departments in the company

External Relationship:

• Relates with banks, external auditors, suppliers and contractors

Special Features of Job Holder

• The job holder must have a First degree in Accounting with at least 10 -15 years working experience in accounting department or audit firm, additional professional qualifications will be an advantage.
• In addition to the above job holder must have good analytical skills, numerate abilities, attention to details, an analytical mind, tact, integrity, financial and management capability, funds management, good interpersonal skills, decision making and be result oriented.

Required Experience

• Have at least 7 years cognate experience in the field of Accounting as a manager.
• Have qualified as a Chartered Accountant at least 2 years ago.
• Not more than 35 year
