Job Title: Managing Director

Location: Lagos

Job Description

An Engineering Consulting organization in Lagos is looking to recruit a Managing Director to plan, organize, direct and coordinate all necessary procedures to implement the mission and policies of the organization.

Duties
Strategic Planning:

To gather input from the members and elected Executive Committee to craft a strategic plan
Develop strategies for the generation of funds and growth
Develop an annual scorecard and business plan for approval by the EXCO

Finance and Fundraising:

Generating income and administering the financing of the secretariat through:
- Collecting of membership subscriptions.
- Increasing membership
- Encouraging greater member attendance at fee- paying event
- Seeking sponsorships and advertising to fund publications and events

Member Services and Retention:

Organizing and encouraging member participation at organisation events such as:
- Mid-year luncheon
- Annual Conferences
Marketing and facilitating member attendance to events interpret and analyse the needs of existing members and prospective members in a year, or in three years
Ensure that programs and services provide value to members

Advocacy and Public Relations:

To support the President in representing the organization in its official engagements expressing the views of the organization.
To maintain liaison with existing member businesses and industries and to establish communications with new businesses and/or prospective members

Skills and Qualifications

First Degree in Engineering. Higher Degrees are an advantage
Minimum of 20 years working experience and 5 years in top management position
Digital prowess in business application software
Membership of a professional body
Strong leadership skills
Excellent presentation skills
Team player
Board management skills
Strong financial acumen
Strong Computer Skills
Basic account knowledge
Previous experience with a business organization.
Successful track record building alliances with a wide range of constituents.
