Computer Instructor at BSS Vocational & Skill Acquisition Center

BSS Vocational & Skill Acquisition Center, accredited by Federal Ministry of Works & Labour as Trade Test Center, is set up as a Vocational Training Institute that provides solution to the challenges of Unemployment and lack of skilled manpower for Small and Medium Enterprises in the country due to lack of well-funded, Structured and Accredited Training institutions.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Computer Instructor

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full Time

Job Description

• We urgently require an experienced full time intructor to work in our Vocational & Skill Acquisition center.

Responsibilities

• Organize, maintain and manage class systems in proper working condition.
• Teach students and learners to use computers.
• Manage and monitor student behavior.
• Integrate special lesson plans with core academic curriculum.
• Train and instruct students, learners and end-users in computer operations.
• Design and develop computer instructional material useful for end-users and learners.
• Evaluate and assess student progress.
• Implement new technologies and methodologies in training issues.
• Brief and instruct end-users on new technologies, software programs and applications.
• Integrate best practices in training schedules and procedures and issues.

Requirements

• Must have worked in the computer science department in a reputable university, polytechnic or any reputable computer school.
• Must have an in depth understanding of the subject computer science including recent developments in computer science.
• Must be honest, God fearing and diligent at work
• Experience of teaching effectively and providing a stimulating environment for learning and teaching to motivate, inspire and challenge Students.
• Ability to design, deliver, assess and revise teaching programmes.
• Must have a proven track record of contributing to the overall success of own and wider academic departments.
• Excellent communication skills with experience of developing networks and contributing to the development of better working practices.
• Must have at least 2 - 5 Years of post-qualification experience in teaching, research and academic administration.
• The candidate must reside in Lagos.

Qualification

• Candidates must possess a B.Sc or HND in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized academic institution.
• A registered member of Computer Professionals of Nigeria (CPN) or Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) would be an added advantage.

Experience:

• 2 - 5 Years in similar job with a credible portfolio.

Skills:

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have knowledge of a wide range of computer technologies.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must have good social networking skills.
• Must have strong public speaking skills.
• Must be detail oriented and mechanically inclined.
