Job Title: Locum Public Health Physician

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• KASI Healthcare is looking for a Locum Public Health Physician with special interest in Occupational Health and Safety and Community Medicine to join our cohesive and enthusiastic team of consultants in diverse area of medicine.
• The contract will be for 3 PA's per week. Six hours (6hrs) for Each PA

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

• The candidate is expected to provides expert consultation services, support the implementation of core programs, provide research and evaluation support, and assist with training, education, and coordination of provincial programs.
• Working with the Medical Director, the Public Health Physician will be expected to provide senior scientific and medical oversight to staff that deliver a wide variety of environmental health related services and programs.
• The candidate is expected to possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of employees and stakeholders. The mandate of the role includes leadership, administrative skills, and planning and managing projects.
• Develop strategies that can help lead to the implementation of programs that will prevent disease or promote good overall health in the community
• Consult with public health officials to develop legislation that focus on improving the health and wellbeing of entire communities
• Candidate will conduct training and community education development via all media of communications.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess MBBS, FWACS or its equivalent.
• Candidates most have a Fellowship in Occupational Health and Safety
• This position requires a medical license to practice in Nigeria or equivalent qualifications in a specialty related to environmental health, such as community medicine, occupational medicine, or infectious diseases.
• The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of post-graduate training in fields related to environmental health such as toxicology, epidemiology, risk assessment and control of environmental hazards coupled with practical experience in responding to environmental health issues and the development of policy to mitigate risks from environmental hazards.
• Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of regulatory agencies, policies, legislation, and processes that govern and are otherwise relevant to environmental health in Nigeria is essential.
• Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years post-Fellowship experience
• Candidates must be fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
