We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Storekeeper
Location: Monguno, Borno
Beginning of contract: ASAP
Contract duration: 3 months (with possibility of extension)
Probation period: 1 Month
Delocalized status and related benefits: Applicable
Mission
The store keeper manages the receipt, storage, safe-keeping and delivery of food, goods, tools and equipment used by Solidarités International or under the responsibility of Solidarités International.
He/she participates in the drafting and monitoring of all administrative documents related to stored items.
Main Tasks
Maintenance of buildings, storage spaces and stored equipment:
Monitor the storage facilities/ infrastructures/ tools and equipment both from inside and outside: locate damages and propose the necessary repairs
Supervise cleaning and regular disinfection of storage spaces
Introduce protection against insects and pests inside the storage spaces and apply treatment upon the first sign of infection
Ensure adequate ventilation of the spaces and keep the stocks clean.
Ensure the equipment and machines used by teams are cleaned before returning to storage
Monitor the quality of products at the time of receipt. Put aside non-compliant or infected products and report to the stock manager.
Regularly monitor the quality of products during storage. Pay special attention to expiration dates
Management of storage spaces:
In conjunction with the Stock Manager, make provisions for the staff and necessary equipment for loading / unloading
Supervise the team of daily workers charged with storage activities
Storing all goods, labeling, tagging, packaging and stacking them appropriately.
Reporting losses, damages, and or any such discrepancies may notice to stock manager.
Draft or complete dispatch and receipt documents in compliance with Solidarités International standards
Monitor and record all incoming and outgoing of foods, goods and equipment
Maintain updated weekly and monthly inventory lists
Participate in monthly stored goods and equipment, physical inventories and reconciliation with what should be in stock.
Apply all the SI stock management procedures and make sure that all the stock management forms are in place.
Security:
Implement team safety measures as determined by the coordination team
Train teams in safety rules and procedures
Pass on any security-related information to his/her line manager
Drafting of reports:
Daily stock inventory report to the stock manager
Weekly stock inventory report to the stock manager
Assist the stock manager for monthly physical inventory of the whole stock.
Requirements
Personal abilities:
Professional experience: 6 months of experience in similar position (NGO/Private or Public sector)
Languages : fluent in English and Hausa (additional languages a plus)
Personal qualities: reliable, honest, very good organization, resistance to stress, good interpersonal skills (communication), team player, capacity to delegate and to manage, initiative and autonomy, capacity of prioritsation of tasks
Ability to interact with team members and partners effectively
Technical competences:
Training: University degree in Logistics or related fields
Knowledge of bookeeping and
Familiarity with standard concepts and best practice in a stockroom and its environment
Basic skills in Excel
