Job Title: Company Secretary/Legal Adviser

Objectives

• To coordinate provision of effective legal services, contract management and mitigate the company's exposure to litigations

Key Job Responsibilities

• Review and vet all contracts and legal documents for the business and oversee the delivery of well written legal opinion for the business
• Liaise with Federal Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Petroleum Resources and Federal Ministry of Finance, Department of Petroleum Resources and other relevant Government agencies on legal matters relating to the SBU
• Represent the Managing Director in legal affairs/issues relating to the organization and provide regular advisory services on proper governance structure/framework for the business

Requirements

• First Class or Second Class Upper (First Degree) in relevant Law disciplines
• Second Class Lower or HND Upper Credit (minimum) in relevant Law disciplines, plus Master’s degree
• Certification/Membership of relevant professional body e.g. NBA, CIARB etc.
• NYSC Completion/Exemption Certificate
• Applicants must not be more than 45 years of age as at 31st December, 2018.
• Applicants must have Minimum of 18 years post-qualification experience with at least 3 years working experience at Managerial/ Leadership level in an organization of comparative size .
• Experience in oil and gas industry and in similar functional area is an added advantage.
