Job Title: Senior Specialist - Device and Technology Solutions (Supervisory)

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• Responsible for the developmentof new RF solutions and device management for new technology, the role holder alsoresponsible for high level problem solving, and ensuring consistency of networktools and data across the entire MTN network. NeworkController (BSC/RNC) Planning andDimensioning in accordance with Business requirement
• Providefor the adequate BSC capacity that meets marketing projection
• Highlevel support for BSS Optimsation andperformance improvement. Knowledge of network - Maintain at all times a detailed knowledge of the total network.

This includes:

• No of nodes in the core network and active sites Site Build configurations Traffic levels Network performance in accordance with KPIs of RF Planning and Optimisation
• Endto end performance fault resolution with radio HLS
• Ensureradio network quality and performance achieves the agreed KPIs and quality targets as defined bythe Head of Division:
  • ProposeNew Quality Target and KPIs o Adviseall staff of target
  • Implementprocesses, procedures and technologies to ensure targets are met
• Monitorprocesses and procedures to ensureconformance to best practices and to identify opportunities for improvements
• ProvidesHigh level support for Network Quality Drive Test analysis and fault resolution Product Awareness Maintain a working knowledge of MTN’s products, services and tariffs. Interdepartmental Working Maintain cordial relationships with other departments within MTN.
• Environmental Awareness Awareness of the social-economic issues and marketing plans issue in the area of responsibility Company Communication Ensure that the company is kept informed by e-mail messages and other documentation of all network changes that may have impact on network quality or network services International Liaison Be able to provide data when required Maintain contact with technical support staff in other networks:
  • Be aware of theperformance and services offered by other networks Network Quality Assurance Regularly monitor, track and report network data inconsistencies/discrepancies
• NetworkRadio Features:
  • Ensurethat MTN take full advantage of all advanced radio features
  • Comparisonof MTN implementation with best in class
  • Implementationof the features o Authorisethe introduction of new features Development of Software Tools Identify new software requirements and participate in the specification of all custom software tools, such as: NetCM · Aircom suite
• Netcharts, CDR Analysis CEM tools
• Ensurethat adequate knowledge of competitor’s activities and competitive environmentis maintained

Job condition:

• Normal MTNN working conditions
• Maybe required to work extended hours

Experience & Training    

• B.Sc./B.Engr. in Electrical/ Electronics,Communications Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering Masters Degree in Telecoms, Management or equivalent would be an added advantage 6-13 years’experience which includes:
• Three(3) years managerial experience with a telecommunications operator or NetworkConsultancy firm
• Vastknowledge and experience in Radio Network Optimsation ·
• Experienceof working on a multivendor and multiband network Experience withEricsson and Huawei equipment will be desirable

Minimum Qualification

• B.Ed, B.Eng, B.Sc, B.Tech or HND.
