Adexen Recruitment Agency has been mandated by one of its clients in the Energy industry to recruit a suitably qualified candidate for their operations in Nigeria to fill the position below:

Job Title: Operations Engineer

Location: Rivers, Nigeria.

Responsibilities

Review the effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improve systems, personal and team performance.
Handle discussions and run meetings with client engineers.
Manage groups in development of studies and front-end design engineering development projects and detailed engineering projects.
Maintain the required technical quality of work produced by discipline assigned staff.
Provide documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in work packs and design books on time to meet deadlines.
Ensure the achievement of project deliverables, project target and completion of the project within the budget and schedule.
Draft engineering and construction scope of work for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
Ensure the promotion of the company’s values and ensure the realization of company and project health, safety, environmental, quality and ethics, systems, policies and procedures.
Communicate with project teams to develop and support projects.
Review project deliverables for technical accuracy, feasibility and compliance with governing codes and client requirements.
Provide process design, optimisation, technical support and advice on all aspect of production and operations to ensure maximisation of resources within safe operating limits.
Facilitate the formulation and development of conceptual facilities engineering designs into functional scopes of work for new and existing assets in an effective and economical manner.

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any other related discipline.
Professional engineering license, chartered engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution.
Minimum of 8 years proven experience and track record as process engineer at senior level.
Experience in design and operational knowledge of pipelines and flow assurance.
Must have experience in all phases of refinery or plant process operations as well as projects, from front end design to detailed design phase engineering, forecasting and reporting.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, working with internal and external engineering and operations staff.
Ability to control all aspects of design including some multi-discipline aspects.
Ability to draft man-hour and material estimates for all activities.
Ability to lead, supervise and organise a medium to large sized team within a project.
