We are recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Title: Logistics Manager
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Job Description
The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring that all deliveries for both all arms of the business are managed seamlessly.
S/he will provide guidance to the logistics officers responsible for each of the departments, and monitor performances of all staff involved.
The Logistics Manager will also make Strategic decisions as necessary, with the aim of improving the efficiency of logistics and delivery.
Roles & Responsibilities
Primary Roles:
Plan and supervise the shipments from production to the end-user
Develop strategies for increasing Logistics revenue
Liaise with vendors for set up bespoke pickup and delivery services
Schedule daily and weekly routes
Track orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software)
Coordinate with Delivery Officers to ensure proper handling and delivery of products
Monitor and report on transportation costs
Ensure delivery documents are properly filed
Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment
Research and suggest cost-effective delivery methods
Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
Manage the Bikers and Drivers onboarding process and earning programme
Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of vehicles, handling of hazardous material, sensitive goods and perishable goods)
Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
Ensure compliance with company policies and transport legislation
Stay up-to-date with safety regulations
Manage the delivery fleet to ensure timely deliveries
Set weekly schedules and plans for logistics tasks and clearly communicate with staff
Create budgets on a regular basis (weekly and monthly) for Logistics and monitor expenses
Ensure all fleet maintenance is conducted timely
Will ensure that all drivers and delivery personnel are equipped with functional Point of Sales devices and Cash (including change)
Will conduct random quality control at the point of dispatch
Will actively seek feedback from the customers at the point of delivery on quality of delivery and report to Customer Care Manager and Operations & Administration Manager on the same
Develop and maintain good relationships
Secondary Roles:
Work closely with the Customer Management team and Operations & Administration Manager on solving any issues that may arise that hinders effective delivery of goods
Work closely with the Business development team to generate leads on potential vendors, developing bespoke services and maintaining a good relationship with existing vendor
Work closely with Onsite & Technologies Team to continually develop a more effective and efficient LMS
Work closely with Management to reduce inefficiencies in logistics and operations
Qualifications
This role is open to all graduates, but a degree, HND or foundation degree in the following subject areas may help:

Skills:
You will need to have:
A logical and systematic approach to work
Good time management ability
The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions
