Job Descriptions

• Drive sound HSSE & Safety Performance management throughout the project, by influencing (challenge, coach and support) business leader’s/leadership team/service contractor organizations on performance objectives in order to achieve Top Quartile performance and ultimately deliver zero safety incident.
• Guide delivery of key project HSSE & SP deliverables through project phases and assurance reviews such as various VARs, Decision Gates and Group Audits;
• Promote positive safety culture in deepwater projects;
• Develop and Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring project internal and external interfaces regulators, Co-Venturers relating to HSSE & SP are managed effectively;
• Develop local capacity by direct coaching and supervision to the growing offshore project Safety & Environment team on various HEMP tools techniques to deliver on HSSE &SP (technical safety) deliverables to the various deepwater teams.
• Develop all aspects of planning and execution of the HSSE &SP on projects including budgets, third party contracts, affiliate services and develop ITTs.
• Develop resource strategy for the offshore project.
• Provide Technical safety support to the offshore project.
• Responsible for assuring that the design of the facility minimizes risks to ALARP.
• Responsible for all project HEMP work, provide support, challenge, governance and expert advice, relating to Technical Integrity, HSSE Cases development during the Define, Design and Execute phases of the project life cycle including the hazard and risk management of potential major accidents.
• Ensure the offshore project complies with the requirements of the HSSE&SP Control Framework.
• Subject Matter Expert and Technical authority for Technical Safety Studies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in specialist HSSE roles in the on/offshore Hydrocarbon industry, including at least 5 years’ experience in development and execution of major integrated projects is essential. Accountable for significant SE delivery on two or more major projects, covering Concept selection through start up

• Degree title: Science degree or Engineering

Preferred Skills:

• Skilled in Safe Systems of Work (JHA, PTW)
• Skilled in use of Design safety tools such as QRA, SIL, HAZOP, HAZID, FERA
• Skilled in analyzing and solving problems, communicating and persuading and being personally creative and innovative
• Skilled at team working, managing Business interfaces and working and embedding change
• Skilled in Project management techniques, including business planning and evaluation
• In depth knowledge of Nigerian safety laws regulations and permits.
• Good understanding of business aspects of SE in the short and long term.
