Tdh in Nigeria implements projects in Health, Wash, Child Protection and Education sectors. Hence, we are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Logistics Officer - Assets, Fleet and Transport
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
General Objective
This position is a Nigerian national position. Position is based in Maiduguri with regular travel within the regions of Tdh operations in Nigeria.
The Logistic Officer will provide a comprehensive and coherent administrative support for the Tdh logistics operations in Maiduguri and other field sites in Nigeria.
The purpose of the position is to implement logistic activities regarding the projects and the base(s) of TDH, more specifically:
Assets management
Fleet and movement management
Transportation
Warehousing
Human resources
Reporting
Responsibilities & Tasks
Assets management:
Ensure all Tdh assets are manage according to Tdh procedures
Ensure tracking and recording in the assets follow-up
Ensure equipment follow-up form filled and archive for each staff
Ensure the maintenance, proper use and utilization of Tdh equipment and devices (training to the user…)
Ensure regular data-back up for logistic department
Follow-up and update communication credit for the whole mission in collaboration with Deputy Utilities.
Ensure daily monitoring of all internet modem to ensure they are operational and charged.
Communicate maintenance needs of all IT equipment (computers, printers, etc.) and propose solutions to the Deputy Logistic Manager
Assist workers or specialized technicians if needed
Follow up the quality of service provision for internet and equipment maintenance.
Fleet and movement management:
In collaboration with Deputy Logistic Manager, program team and stakeholder (UNHAS), organize and plan staff movement field trip by air and road
Supervise the respect of the vehicle management procedure: log books, use of the vehicles, maintenance, cleaning…etc
Supervise and follow the global maintenance of the vehicles in link with the drivers, and the rental agency
Ensure all vehicles legal documentation and procedures are updated
Ensure the vehicle follow-up every month, (fuel and voucher follow up), synthesis of cost per km, synthesis of maintenance cost, synthesis of total cost…) according TDH’s procedure
Manage base drivers team in their daily activities and tasks when necessary.
Participate in the continuous general training of drivers and regularly test their knowledge
Ensure that problems are reported to the rental company as soon as possible.
Fill all the documents needed for transportation of goods (Packing list and Waybill)
Ensuring proper use and maintenance of the generator
Transport management:
Assist the Deputy Log Manager Utility in the management of the vehicles’ fleet, including vehicles for team and material transportation.
Brace the Deputy Log Manager Utility in ensuring communication and planning of movement between Programs and Logistics.
Aid in ensuring the fleet covers the support and the program’s needs.
Help in upholding the quality of contracts for renting vehicle
Assist in ensuring the good follow up of fleet activities and reporting.
Stock Management / Warehousing:
Select the storage locations and creating a plan for the development and security of these sites
Ensure that material is stored under suitable conditions.
Ensure procedures are followed as stock is checked in and out.
All documentation linked to stock is complete and correct.
Supervise the monthly physical stock inventory.
Human Resources-Management:
Organize the planning and work of the team his/her supervising
Support for the Supervision and management of the driver’s team (work planning, schedule)
Train his/her team
Reporting:
Provide the line manager a monthly report and forecast (Purchase follow up, Stock, Fleet data base)
Immediate feedback in case of incident in and around our working area to the line Manager.
Security
Comply with Tdh Security Regulations.
Other
Fully comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Policy is upheld at all times.
Ensure adherence to Tdh standards and quality requirements in all the project activities.
Adhere to and ensure the team under her/his responsibility follows Tdh administrative and logistical regulations and procedures.

Requirements
Knowledge:
Formal education/training in logistics desired - can be compensated with experience (at discretion of evaluation team)
Significant previous experience with similar tasks, particularly in procurement
Advance IT knowledge (hardware and software, Microsoft Office, Internet, Server, LINUX)
Experience in team management
Previous experience with an NGO is desirable
Ability to work under pressure and in stressful environment
Previous experience in emergency response is appreciated
Strong organizational and time management skills
Skills:
Required qualities: organized, sense of human relations, diplomacy, communication skills
Desirable: proactive, autonomous, rigorous, analytical, willingness and motivation to work in an international and intercultural context
To have a valid driving license is an asset.
Languages:
Fluent in English (written and spoken), Hausa and Kanuri
