Hotel & Event Management Instructor at BSS Technical Skill Centre

BSS Technical Skill Centre accredited by Federal Ministry of Works & Labour as Trade Test Center, City & Guild of London as programmes centre, NABTEB as programmes centre and a member of British Safety Council urgently requires an experienced Full Time Technical Engineering Manager to work in our Technical Skill Centre.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hotel & Event Management Instructor

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Recruit and train workers on Hotel Management and event planning from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
• Partner with assigned departments throughout the organization to outline specific training needs, expectations and learning solutions for team members in support of the organization’s goals
• Provide engaging instructional experiences utilizing a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, tools, and practices
• Monitor and measure outcomes and effectiveness of all training initiatives; modify and improve learning solutions to better reach targeted results when necessary
• Continually motivate and coach trainees in ongoing learning opportunities in order to assess and ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs
• Proactively work with management to identify training opportunities and problems as well as resolve issues
• Manage time effectively, demonstrate excellent organizational skills and follow-through and execute projects and produce high quality deliverables within tight deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
• Technical College Education with Trade Test and certificate from National Business &Technical Examination Board (NABTEB).
• At least ten (10) years of experience in the direction and management of employees, including a minimum of five (5) years in a hotel environment
• In-depth understanding of hotel operations, recruitment and processes within the various hotel departments.
• Technical knowledge and experience with hotel property management and yield management systems

Requirements:

• Must have worked in the Hospitality & Event Management department in a reputable Technical School or Hospitality & Event Management Academy.
• Must have an in depth understanding of the subject Hotel & Event Management.
• Must be honest, God fearing and diligent at work
• Experience of teaching effectively and providing a stimulating environment for learning and teaching to motivate, inspire and challenge Students.
• Ability to design, deliver, assess and revise teaching programmes.
• Experience and success in developing new approaches to learning and teaching methods.
• Must have a proven track record of contributing to the overall success of own and wider academic departments.
• Excellent communication skills with experience of developing networks and contributing to the development of better working practices.
• Must have at least 2 - 5 Years of post-qualification experience in teaching, research and academic administration.
• The candidate must reside in Lagos.
