Tokeeto's ticket distribution service (TDS) is built to facilitate efficient ground transportation in Africa by providing transport operators with the necessary tools to manage checking and boardings, the network to sell tickets faster, while giving ticket retailers the tools to serve travellers across the continent in real time.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Back-End Engineer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Introduction

• Software engineers are known to have a high taste for quality. From critical thinking, to the structure they use for data storage, to the consideration of the overall time/space complexity of their algorithms, their attention to detail is apt.
• We are developing critical systems that serve the needs of people across the transportation industry. We’re currently looking for backend engineers who understand and can apply the following in their day-to-day:
  • Data Structures and their related Algorithms.
  • Object Oriented Design Patterns: Factory, Facade, Dependency Injection, Builder, Observer, etc.
  • Test-Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development, Peer Programming.
  • Agile development, Continuous Integration and Deployment, API design.

On-the-job Description
In a very relaxed environment with a small but growing team, you will be building and rolling out applications that serve people across Africa. You will be working directly with the CTO and your core responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with the team to ensure that solutions are built rapidly using best known practices.
• Designing and implementing backend systems that scale efficiently.
• Breaking down complex problems and finding solutions in granular fashion, just like the engineer you are.
• Analyzing, building, testing and reiterating to ensure a very low point of failure for the systems you will be developing.
• Working with schedules and delivering quality.

Tech Stack Expectations

• We expect that you are very familiar and can solve problems with any of Java, Javascript or PHP.
• We require that you have at least 3 years experience developing backend systems and can work efficiently with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• We also expect some knowledge of caching technologies like Redis, Memcached, etc.

Nice to have:

• NodeJS, Javascript, GraphQL, PHP, Python, Typescript, React, React Native, Ionic, Kotlin, Javascript, HTML, CSS3.
