Job Title: Android /JAVA Developer

Location: Abuja

Job Description

• We are looking for an Android Developer who possesses a refined skill set and an ability to work efficiently and independently in active development and other internal projects as needed
• He/she is also expected to work on existing applications which are designed on all current versions of the Android.

Responsibilities

• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code.
• Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs in new and existing applications.
• Help maintain code quality and organization.
• Design and development of Android apps based on an existing web application and API.
• Maintain and continuously improve an advanced application for the Android platform with a REST based backend that supports online and offline operation and integration with existing ERP system.
• Collaborate with internal, remote teammates to research, plan and develop additional functionality for the internal platforms as needed to solve other business problems.
• Utilize the user feedback experience to its fullest by incorporating design changes quickly.
• Troubleshoot & Debug issues with other developers & end users of application.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Utilize the user feedback experience to its fullest by incorporating design changes quickly.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or any other Science related courses.
• Proven Java software development experience development for at least 2 years
• Proven working experience in Android app development 1+ year and have published at least one original Android app
• Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio etc.
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON based communication
• Experience with MQTT messaging protocol will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently with non-programmers to determine application requirements and schedules.
• Knowledge of REST/JSON and UI principles are preferred.
• Additional knowledge of web technologies is preferred but not required.
