The Governing Council of
Enugu State College of Education (Technical), Enugu announces that the positions of the Provost, Registrar, Bursar, College Librarian and Director of Works Services will soon be vacant.
The Council therefore directs that applications be invited from suitably qualified candidates (internal and external) for appointment into the following positions in Enugu State College of Education (Technical), Enugu.
1.) Provost
Responsibilities
- The provost is the Academic and Chief Executive of the College and shall be responsible for the execution of the policy decisions of the Council and the day-to-day administration of the College. Copied from: www.hotnigerianjobs.com
Requirements
- The candidate must possess at least a Masters degree in a teaching subject, preferably a subject taught in the College, from a recognized institution plus at least 15 years cognate experience, and a professional teaching qualification, or a Doctorate degree with at least 12 years cognate experience.
- He must have attained the position of a Chief Lecturer or equivalent in on institution of higher learning.
- Also he must be registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
- The candidate must show evidence of ability to provide academic and administrative leadership.
2.) Registrar
Responsibilities
- The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the College responsible to the College Governing Council through the Provost
- Takes charge of the Registry Division
- Responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration of the College
- Functions as Secretary to the Academic Board, Governing Council and other statutory committees
- Responsible for keeping all records in the College.
Requirements
- Candidate should possess a good honours degree from a recognized institution of higher learning plus at least 17 years cognate experience, or a holder of Masters Degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, plus 15 years cognate experience, or a holder of a Doctorate degree plus 12 years cognate experience. Possession of a higher degree in Educational Administration and Planning will be an added advantage.
3.) Bursar
Responsibilities
- The Bursar is a Principal Officer of the College responsible for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the operations of the financialsystem of the College
- He is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess good honours Degree/HND in Accountancy or Finance from a recognized institution of higher learning or equivalent professional accounting qualification with at least 1 8 years post- qualification cognate experience and registration with a recognized professional Accounting body. 4.) College Librarian
Responsibilities
- The Librarian is a Principal Officer of the College responsible for:
- Framing overall library policy, personal contacts and liaison with departments
- Preparation of library Budgets
- Engaging in matters of common interest
- Responsible to the Provost for the smooth running of library of the College.
Requirements
- Candidate should posses a Masters Degree in library Studies with 15 years cognate or professional library qualification with 17 years post- qualification experience.
5.) Director Of Works & Sevices
Responsibilities
- The Director of works is responsible to the Provost and:
- Takes charge of over-all control of the works and estate department
- Formulates strategies to achieve the institutional goals
- Advises the Provost on acquisition, operation and maintenance of the College assets
- Prepares works budget and exercises budgetary control
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a good honours degree, with a relevant Engineering/Environmental Sciences qualification from a recognized Institution of higher Learning plus at least 17 years post-qualification experience. The salary and conditions of service are as applicable in similar tertiary institutions in the State.
