We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: IT Data Analyst

Location: Lagos
Department: IT
Reports to: Scrum Master/Technical Delivery Manager
Supervises: Functional Process Lead, Functional Business Analyst, Business Champion

Job Purpose

• Data Analyst interprets data and turns it into information which can offer ways to improve a business, thus affecting business decisions
• Data Analysts gather information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends – as such a Data Analyst role is highly analytical in nature
• Once data has been gathered and interpreted, the Data Analyst will report back what has been found in a comprehensive study to the wider business/relevant colleagues.

Key Role & Responsibilities
BI Data Analyst:

• Data Analysts often make recommendations about the methods and ways in which a company obtains and analyses data to improve quality and the efficiency of data systems.

Data Gathering:

• Engage with both technical and business users to understand business context.
• Identify and explore structured and unstructured data effectively and efficiently in order to source answers to business questions.
• Working alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs.
• Compile and gather the relevant data.
• Test and implement data source changes where required.

Data Manipulation:

• Analyse, manipulate and present data in a manner to clarify business requirements and as a basis for prototyping.
• Specify design and build reports according to a wide variety of business needs.
• Assist analytical team members by sharing best practice, technical and analytical techniques.
• Identifying patterns, profiles and trends in data sets.
• Defining new data collection and analysis processes.

Intelligence & Analytics:

• Draw data from various systems, analyse information received and compile reports.
• Compile a report and communicate/present results.
• Experience in data models and reporting packages.
• Ability to analyse large datasets.
• Ability to write comprehensive reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Mathematics or Computer Science or Statistics.
• +5 years’ experience in data analyst role.
• Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
• Reporting and briefing skills to senior business stakeholders.
