Job Title: Managing Director, Haulage and Logistics

Location: Abuja

Key Responsibilities

Will be responsible for the smooth running and overall management of the Haulage, Logistics and Transportation Company.
Champion the formulation and implementation of strategies and plans for the Company’s operations to ensure profitability and drive business growth in line with the Company’s objectives;
Prepare a corporate plan, annual business plan and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.
Draft policies for the approval of the CEO and prepare procedures to implement the organizational policies; review existing policies on an annual basis and recommend changes to the Board as appropriate.
Identify, assess, and inform the CEO and Group Heads of internal and external issues that affect the organization
Act as a professional advisor to the CEO and Group Heads on all aspects of the organization's activities
Develop and maintain Research & Development programmes to ensure that the company remains at the forefront in the industry, applying the most cost-effective methods and approaches to provide leading products and retain its competitive edge.
Develop and maintain Total Quality Management systems throughout the company to ensure the best possible products and services are provided to customers.

Requirements

First Degree in Transport and Logistics Management or related field.
Master's Degree in related field
Professional Certification e.g. CILT, CIWW etc.
Minimum of 12 years work experience of which 6 should be in a senior management position.
A wide knowledge of the Haulage, Logistics and Transportation field.
High level of Business and commercial Acumen
In-depth knowledge of global and local transport and logistics best practices and guidelines.
