We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Logistics Coordinator


  • To provide an effective and professional logistical service to all departments, thus ensuring the achievement of company budgetary requirements and goals through effective implementation, control and management of stores procedures.
  • To ensure that a high level of standard is maintained in providing logistical support
Job Description
Your primary responsibility is to manage the complete supply chain cycle to support of the company with a cost effective logistical support. In this regard the following functions resort under your department:

Vehicle Fleet:
  • Ensure that the entire company’s needs in terms of vehicles are satisfied
  • Vehicle requirement and replacement planning
  • Vehicle administration
  • Vehicle servicing and repairs including insurance administration
  • Vehicle registration papers
  • Vehicle inspection
  • Procurement of vehicle accessories
  • Administration of fuel card
  • Manage the leasing company in terms of ensuring the serviceability of the FML fleet of the company
  • Manage the vehicle workshop
  • Ensure proper accountability for all spares and parts bought and used by the workshop
Uniforms and Accessories:
  • Ensure that the company’s requirement in terms of uniforms and accessories is satisfied
  • Ensure a proper issue plan for all security officers according to the contract register and budget
  • Management of the stores
  • Ensure that all requests for uniforms are legitimate in terms of previous issues as well as the renewal of the contract
  • Ensure that all items received from vendors are the correct quality in terms of the contract
  • Liaise with couriers for the timely delivery of all consignments outside Lagos.
  • Procurement of special uniform and accessories
  • Ensure that monthly stocktaking is done at all stores
  • Ensure that all requests are authorised before creating Purchase Orders
  • Ensure that the correct amounts are sent to the different contracts by doing spot checks on these consignments
Facility Management:
  • Ensure proper management of all facilities
  • Source facilities and negotiate the best prices for facilities required by the company
  • Ensure that these facilities meet the Company’s requirements
  • Ensure that these facilities are in a proper and serviceable condition at all times
  • Ensure that the generators at these facilities are in good condition, serviced according to the correct intervals and fuelled when needed
  • Ensure that all monthly payments in terms of water, electricity and PHCN is paid on time
  • Ensure that the following is completed monthly for all houses:
  • Payment of DSTV bills
  • Payment of PHCN bills
  • Payment of water bills
  • Arrange for gas and the payment thereof
  • Six monthly maintenance fees
  • Six monthly security fees
  • Visit the houses on a monthly basis to ensure that it is kept in good condition by the tenants
  • Ensure that the monthly service fees are paid for the training facility in Mainland
  • Ensure that all QHSE aspects are in place at all facilities, especially at the stores and workshops
  • Liaise with the respective landlords in terms of their responsibilities according to the contract
  • Negotiate cleaner contracts for all facilities and ensure that they fulfil their commitments according to the contract
  • Manage any disputes between the company and vendors i.e. VGC Water Company, supplying services to the facilities
  • All furniture removals within the company
  • Monitor the invoices and individual lines to ensure that it is correct and individuals do not exceed their limits. Take remedial action on those that does exceed their limits
  • Procurement of all GSM handsets
  • Follow up any communication problems with the supplier and rectify immediately
  • Ensure that warranties on these handsets are honoured
  • Stay ahead with the newest technology to ensure that the comapny is always using the most cost effective way of communications
  • Ensure that the correct procedure is followed with the procurement of all goods
  • Ensure that all suppliers undergo an evaluation prior to being added to the preferred supplier list
  • Ensure that the correct tender procedures are followed
  • To apply the highest level of business ethics and professionalism
  • Service and maintenance of all printers and copiers
Person Specification
Experience required:
  • Degree or Diploma in related Business subject
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Good knowledge of project planning
  • Prior working knowledge and experience in the same domain is an added advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of Logistics management
Proven ability to:
  • Communicate sensitively and effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people
  • Demonstrate respect, openness and genuineness in developing working relationships with others and contribute to positive working relationships in a team
  • Problem solving
  • Prioritise own workload and complete work within tight deadlines and conflicting/ competing demands
  • Work occasional out of office hours during evenings and at weekends for which time off in lieu will be given
  • Demonstrate accurate numerical and analytical skills
  • Work without direct supervision
