Summary
Control Risks is seeking an experienced risk management and security professional to join our expanding West Africa operations teams.
This is a senior client facing, operations, commercial management and business development role. The ideal candidate being able to deliver client consulting around a range of risk management issues, manage and coordinate complex client-facing operations and develop and grow the CSC embedded consulting and protective services business.
The individual will be responsible for the implementation of a regional strategy that supports business goals through the positioning of Control Risks as the preferred and quality provider of operational security services in West Africa.
Fluent written and spoken French and English are essential.
Tasks and Responsibilties
Operations management and support:
Management and oversight of embedded consulting projects and protective services tasks across West Africa
Take ownership of the commercial viability and success of regional operations projects
Manage regional operations tasks across West Africa, in conjunction with deployed teams and regional management
Further develop and maintain a trusted support network across the region to aid intelligence gathering and provide direct project support
Engage with local providers and further develop an accredited sub-contractor network to support operations as required.
Ensure all projects are compliant with Control Risks’ and client policies and procedures
Client engagement and consulting:
Lead and support Control Risks’ client management activities across the West Africa region
Develop, grow and foster client relationships with existing clients, across multiple sectors and geographies
Deliver on a range of risk and crisis management and security risk consulting engagements
Actively develop and engage with new clients and position cost effective and right-sized risk management solutions to support their operations
Develop a dynamic account management environment ensuring client accounts are effectively supported across the region and in conjunction with Control Risks’ global teams.
Growth and Development of the Business:
Take a personal lead in the development and growth of the CSC, West Africa business through engagement with existing clients and new prospects
Support the development and implementation of competitive business strategies that encompass all aspects of the risk management sector
Support the development of innovative delivery models, products and services that address client needs, and that help position the Company at the forefront of this sector
Build and develop a strong network of senior contacts within our buyer constituency and consistently develop the company’s positioning with them to enhance business development and secure higher fee-earning engagements
Engage with our partners, notably International SOS, to ensure we effectively support clients operationally and commercially across the region
Lead the bid process for CSC work along the lifecycle of an organization’s presence in the region.
Knowledge and Experience
This is a senior appointment that requires significant and recent relevant commercial risk and security consulting experience;
You will be recognised as an expert in your field with a proven ability of operating successfully at a senior level and growing a business successfully driving teams to reach the strategic and operational goals;
Demonstrable depth and breadth of understanding of risk management, business resilience, and the dynamics of a consultancy practice;
Proven and demonstrable track record of successful risk and resilience consultancy projects, coupled with an understanding of the requirements for delivering services in a complex environment;
Commercially astute when planning and pricing project in terms of time, resource and outcomes;
Relevant role of having successfully built effective and strong client relationships, being the preferred partner of choice;
Proven experience of successful budgeting, project management and project closure.
