We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Lagos
Reports To: Head, Design & Estimation

Job Description

• Develops new electrical systems for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, usually using a computer program.
• Responsible for developing system specifications and layouts, also test systems and make adjustments as needed.
• In addition, provide support throughout the manufacturing of the electrical systems that has been designed. Designing and laying out new electrical systems. Summarily an applicant should be able to;
  • Create system models and simulations
  • Test new systems and making design changes if needed
  • Produce necessary design reports and documentation
  • Assist in the manufacture of new electrical systems

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect details of work from Clients and prepare technical specifications of systems.
• Ensure effective interpretation of clients requirements and ideas
• Ensure implementation of design on site in a cost effective manner.
• Coordinate design, proposals and concepts
• Generate bill of quantities and coordinate prices material schedules and submittals
• Coordinate all technical issues within and around the Project
• Reading design specifications and technical drawings prepared by other contractors
• Represent the company on all meetings and requests by the client
• Prepare conceptual designs, working and coordinate As-Built Drawings for projects engaged by the company.
• Manage and maintain client relationships and communicate with clients to explain proposals, present research findings, establish specifications or discuss project status.
• Develop and implement design and construction of assigned projects according to laid down specifications or standards
• Providing analytical and problem solving support, employing engineering skills, in support of business and quality improvement processes.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals, bill- of quantities and documentation (Operating and maintenance Manuals)
• Review and amend drafted drawings.
• Supervise and approve production of project design calculations.
• Other duties assigned to you by the Managing Partner.

Qualification

• Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree (B.sc) in Electrical Engineering at least and any other relevant field of qualification

Person Specification
Our ideal Candidates must possess the following;

• CAD software - use computer-aided design (CAD) and other relevant design softwares on a daily basis
• Must be an active member of any engineering professional body, e.g, COREN and others as it applies.
• Project management concepts - from scheduling to meeting deadlines, electrical design engineers should be able to adhere to project management guidelines and processes
• Electrical codes - knowledge of electrical codes is important in the design and manufacture of electrical systems
• At least 3-4 years working experience in electrical design
• Project Management certifications will be an added advantage
• Membership of Professional bodies e.g. COREN, NSE,
• Project Management Certification will an added advantage
• Professional training certifications such Quality, Health & Safety (QHSE), Quality Management System (QMS) etc. would be an added advantage.
