The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.

Job Title: Senior Services & Logistics Manager
Location: Africa
Duties
Senior Services & Logistics Manager who can effectively handle the following duties:
Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers
Monitor the execution of contractual charges of outsourced service providers, such as: security, maintenance of the transportations and maintaining the provision of Services (Telephone Lines, Caterings, Translations, etc.) with the 3rd parties’ service providers;
Responsible for the warehouse and supplies’ management;
Participate with the Head of Department in planning & development of the departmental budget and the provision of equipment & supplies;
Manage and validate the invoices received from the external service providers, under the supervision of the head of department;
Monitor the logistics of all CAF events by monitoring quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs
Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce
Receive all the deliveries sent to CAF;
Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues
Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports
Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement
Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process
Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with CAF Rules
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar
Master Degree in Logistics or equivalent is a plus
A total of 10 years’ working experience in Logistics and services of which a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar managerial role
Experience in Stock Management Software, Shipping and Customs Declaration procedures, and Notions on Air FREIGHT Transport
Fluent in at least two of CAF official languages (French, English and/or Arabic)
Flexible to work in a shift schedule and to work from outside the office
Able to work independently and within a larger team to achieve results and impact
Proven capabilities and leadership skills to inspire and develop the team
Skilled in negotiation and conflict management
Works well under pressure and manages stressful situations with ease
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong sense of accountability, responsibility, and integrity
