PTK Consulting Limited - Our client who is a major player in the Power sector is seeking to employ a suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: General Manager - Plant

Location: Delta

Responsibilities

• Provide direct technical supervision to the technical heads and engineers of the company
• Champion and lead HSSEQ performance, standards and culture
• Responsible for the performance and delivery of the O&M Contractor in line with agreed KPI's, ensuring required levels of reliability, availability and integrity are delivered
• Coordinate and supervise all maintenance functions necessary to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the plant to meet scheduled production level
• Responsible for plant operating performance as related to equipment reliability and performance.
• Schedules all maintenance activities with plant personnel and outside service providers.
• Develop and direct the implementation of maintenance procedures and plans to assure optimum efficiency and effectiveness in outage planning, giving consideration to equipment capabilities, customer demands, operating personnel and equipment maintenance requirements.
• Develop and maintain computerized maintenance management program, including routine, outage, preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Assist in the selection of plant employees and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Ability to step in and perform the duties of Technical and Engineering functions

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• An Engineering Degree and/or significant proven operational experience demonstrating a strong technical background.
• Demonstrable record and commitment to delivering a strong HSSE performance in operation of Power Plants
• Proven track record of delivery in the operation and maintenance of power generation and distribution facilities
• Experience of managing contractors and suppliers in operations or projects
• Up to 10 years of related power plant and distribution network operations and maintenance management experience.
• A minimum of three years in a supervisory and management experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Comprehensive understanding of electric generating plant systems.
• Relevant professional qualifications (or ongoing certification program) in Project Management will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in Financial Modelling and the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Projects and Microsoft Access
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
