Environmental Science Group Limited was originally set up to assist UK Industry meet new and emerging Health & Safety legislation from the EU. Today, the company employs experienced Physicists, Chemists and Engineers that build on the original work with particular emphasis on the authoring of Safety Data Sheets, identifying chemical hazards and providing on-site COSHH monitoring and risk assessment services.

Job Title: Quality Control and Quality Assurance Assistant Manager

Summary

• We are currently seeking Production Quality Control Inspector who can test, document, troubleshoot and prepare our products for launch.
• The successful candidate will have a creative, innovative approach to his or her work and will never shy away from offering frank observations and recommendations.
• We’re looking for a highly organised, methodical professional with the experience necessary to take our products to the next level in terms of safety, security and accuracy.
• A proven track record of experience is essential preferably in FMCG. Qualified, responsible applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity
• Maintain, test and troubleshoot all activities to provide assurance of quality to stakeholders
• Manage and work in progress defects and determine the best way to scale those repairs
• Test a certain percentage of all products based on industry standards
• Report problems or concerns to line manager for prompt resolution
• Manage quality assurance in assigned production line
• Support in creating an effective, efficient testing protocol to be used across all product lines
• Inspect products prior to shipment to ensure accurate labelling and record keeping
• Maintain open lines of communication between employees, management and executives
• Ensure all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly

Qualification and Skills

• Minimum of Degree in Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry Chemical (or equivalent) required
• 5+ years in quality control or quality assurance position
• 2+ years in a supervisory position a plus
• Analytical, logical thought process and meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to others
• Industry certification a plus
• Knowledge of Laboratory Practice and SHE
