Federal College of Education (Technical) - The Governing Council, Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below. Candidate for the post must demonstrate evidence of strong Academic and Administrative, formulation, good human relations and positive managerial attributes.

The College
The Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka was established in 1967. It is located within a peaceful but dynamic Akoka-Yaba environs that are noted to accommodate many notable educational institutions, in Lagos.

The College offers 3years Full-Time Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) Courses and 4years Part-Time/Sandwich NCE Courses. In addition to the above, the College offers Courses leading to the 1year Full-Time and 2years Part-Time (Sandwich) Technical Teachers’ Certificate Course, (TTC) and 2years Technical Teachers’ Diploma (TTD) in Nursing Education.

Duties:
The Provost is the Chief Executive Officer of the College. The successful candidate would be expected to provide the required Academic Administrative and Professional Leadership for the College that will foster the execution of the broad policies laid down by government in achieving in achieving the objectives for which the institution was established.
He/She shall foster good rapport with the relevant organs and agencies of government such as the Federal Ministry of Education, National Commission for Colleges of Education and other professional and statutory bodies that could lead to further development of the College while continuing to sustain the status of Centre of Excellence for which it has been known, over the years.

Qualification:
Candidates should possess at least a Master’s Degree from a recognized university in the core disciplines of Technical and Vocational Education,
Candidates must have a minimum of Fifteen (15) years of relevant Master Degree post-qualification cognate experience and must be a Chief Lecturer of at least 5 years experience.
Candidates must not be more than 55 years of age at the time of assumption of duty.
Candidates must show evidence of good track record in result-oriented researches, reaching national and international levels in their research achievements (including demonstrable ICT proficiency).
Candidates must be of good conduct, possess sense of discipline, dedication, drive, resourcefulness and be capable of commanding the respect and loyalty of the members of staff and the students of the College. He/She must not be one that is ready to foster personal, social political and religious differences or other selfish interests among staff and students of the College.
Possession of Professional Technical Qualification and evidence of registration as a Teacher is mandatory for applicants.

Tenure:
The appointment is for an initial period of four (4)years and may be re-appointed for another tenure of four (4)years following satisfactory performance

Salary:
The salary and fringe benefits attached to the post is in accordance with the Government Special Scheme and is consolidated.
