West African Soy Industries Limited operates one of the largest specialized oils and fats processing complexes in Africa. The manufacturing facility is located in Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria, with raw materials sourced from farmers in Kaduna, Katsina, Niger and other states across Nigeria. The Company is active in the Soy value chain through its out-grower farming activities by providing high-quality agri-inputs to farmers and procuring farm produce from them through off-take arrangements. WASIL also educates the farmers on Yield Enhancement Techniques (YET) to improve their crop yield, and trains women on best practices in Shea collection and primary processing.

Job Description

• The role is responsible to provide leadership and technical expertise for the efficient operation, monitoring, assessment of site utilities and mechanical systems.
• Develop unit capabilities to achieve maximum utilization of technology and equipment
• Perform condition-based maintenance on all utility equipment using CMMs
• Ability to pass the technical proficiency test, and shows a high level of hands on skills;
• Handle responsibilities of monitoring tools, equipment and spare parts inventory
• Responsible for ensuring use of spare parts in most effective and productive manner
• Ensure conformance to power network layout and trouble shooting.
• Apply EHS procedures and good practices in order to prevent personal injuries and damage to equipment;
• Ensure a prompt end of shift report of all Technical issues preventing the machines in his domain from achieving optimum performance;
• Decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strictly adhere and conform to all QMS standard.

Qualifications

• B.Sc / B.Tech / HND
• Minimum 5 years’ experience on utilities plants and equipment in a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
• Ability to understand safety & environmental risks associated with working of plant
• Proficiency in fault finding/troubleshooting;
• Decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
