University of Lagos Convocation Programme for 2012 / 2013 Session

The University of Lagos (UNILAG), a Federal Government University in Lagos, Lagos State, southern Nigeria, has remained one of the best and renowned in the country. With an enrollment of over 50,000 students, UNILAG is one of the largest universities in Nigeria. The University has built a legacy of academic excellence and is acknowledged as "the University of First Choice and the Nations Pride. The main campus is located at Akoka, Yaba area of Lagos, while the campus of its College of Medicine with its adjunct Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) is located idi-Araba, Surulere, on the Lagos mainland.

Over the past few years, the University has strived to increase its financial self -sufficiency, recognising that it cannot depend on government funding alone to achieve and sustain the distinction to which it aspires. The University is therefore taking steps to seek greater financial autonomy by implementing measures and programmes and developing the capabilities to solicit, promote and earn the generosity of its alumni body as well as the broad community of interests the University serves.

The University Community, the general public, parents, guardians and in particular the 2012/2013 graduating students are hereby informed of the Convocation Ceremonies which have been scheduled as follows:

Refund will only be made on the return of the academic outfit on or before Monday, June 23rd, 2014.

Academic outfit will be available in the College, School of Postgraduate Studies, Faculties, and the Distance Learning Institute.

Procedure for Payment and Refund
Graduating students are to pay for academic outfit, brochures and certificates into
Unilag Convocation Account No (Nationwide) and collect the Blue Copy of the teller.
Name and Faculty should be indicated boldly on the teller. Procedure for the refund of the garment will be made available at the point of collections of academic outfit.

Invitation Cards for Graduating Students
Each graduating student is entitled to two invitation cards. The invitation cards and complete set of academic outfit made up of gown, hood, cap and scroll would be available for collection on presentation of receipt/teller for payment at the College/School/Faculty/lnstitute as appropriate. Convocation Brochure and Academic outfitare.to be collected at the various locations earlier mentioned.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rahamon Ade Bello, FAEng, congratulates all graduating students on behalf of the entire University community The students are hereby assured that certificates will be ready for collection immediately after each ceremony upon the presentation of ALL necessary clearances.
