Registrar at the Nigeria Arabic Language Village

The Nigeria Arabic Language Village is an Inter-University Centre for Arabic Studies established in 1992. The Village is the only parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Education mandated to offer Arabic Immersion services to undergraduate students from Nigerian Universities and Acculturation services to students from Colleges of Education across the country.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Registrar

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Responsibilities

• As the Principal Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of the centre, the Registrar shall be responsible to the Director/CEO for the day to day administration of the centre except for financial matters for which the Bursar is responsible.
• The Registrar is also the Secretary to the Governing Council and other statutory committees.
• He/She is responsible for safe custody and update of the Village records.
• He/She is to advice the Director/CEO in accordance with the centre's law and status.

Requirements

• Possess a good University Degree.
• Posses at least fifteen (15) years post qualification experience, with a minimum of four (4) years as Deputy Registrar.
• Possession of a higher degree or membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.
• Have demonstrable integrity.
• Be very proficient in the Arabic Language.
• Be very proficient in the use of computer.
• Have strong leadership skills with ability to inspire and motivate subordinates; and be in good physical arid mental health.
• Have a dear vision for the development of the centre with ability to implement the vision.

Tenure:

• The appointment shaIl be for one term of five (5) years only.

Condition of Service:

• The conditions of service shall be as obtainable in the Nigerian University system.

Salary
The salary shall be as obtainable in the Nigeria University system.
