Royal Residences by Design Union is 5 Star Hotel on the Victoria Island providing high end hotelling experience for exclusive individuals.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hotel Porter

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Summary

• Greet guests and carrying luggage to and from their room.
• Show guests to their room and explaining the facilities
• Look after keys and left luggage
• Answer guests’ questions about the hotel and local points of interest
• Arrange transport and making restaurant and theatre bookings for guests
• Keep the lobby and reception area tidy and collect hotel laundry.
• Cover the reception desk, dealing with enquiries by phone and face-to-face.
• Deal alone with problems arising in the night; if necessary transferring guests into a different room.
• In case of fire or emergency, make sure that guests are evacuated safely.

Requisite Qualifications / Experience

• OND in Hotel management or other related qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in similar position.

Required Skills / Attributes:

• This is an active job.
• Ability to carry heavy loads, possibly up and down stairs, and move heavy furniture.
• It involves wearing a uniform provided by the hotel.
• Excellent client management skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal and people management skills and negotiating skills
• Self-motivated and team player
• Must be presentable, professional and confident in the discharge of duties.
• Able to work work shifts, including early mornings, nights and weekends.
