of democratic societies. IFES provides targeted technical assistance to strengthen transitional democracies. Founded in 1987 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, IFES has developed and implemented comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 120 countries.

IFES NIGERIA:
IFES is proposing a capacity-building program in support of the professionalisation of Nigeria�s electoral process in the run-up to the next Presidential elections, building upon our work in Nigeria between 1998 - 2009.

Job Title: Senior Writer
Division: Program Management
Status: International Full Time

Project Description:
Support IFES� MENA department through editing and writing (and other duties as required to support MENA objectives). This position is contingent upon funding from the donor.

Job Responsibilities:
� Develop the content, including photos and written pieces, for the website
� Determine the content of the feature and news section on a daily basis
� Work with contributors to ensure the section is kept up to date
� Work with the editorial team to ensure that content is featured prominently on the site
� Contribute regularly to the blog/column on the website
� Develop marketing/outreach strategies that brand the website�s art coverage and increase visitors to the website
� Maintain a comprehensive file management and archive system and ensure that it is kept up to date

Qualifications:
� MA from an accredited college or university; 5+ years of relevent work experience
� Excellent writing/editing/organizational skills
� Strong grammar and copy editing skills (ability to edit for clarity, accuracy and limited space)
� Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products and their applications
� Fluency in regional language and experience writing and editing in regional language
� Knowledge of political, social and cultural issues in Middle East
� Knowledge of BBC style a plus.

� Detail-oriented with a commitment to customer service
� Demonstrated experience editing and writing articles (editing test is required, writing samples a plus)
