Job Title: Backend Developer and DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

• In this position, you will manage infrastructure projects, build full backend systems, enterprise integrations and processes. Keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a solid technical knowledge base are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management of an integrated technology software stacks. This involves API-level software integrations between multiple 3rd parties in secure cloud environments
• Build on and Maintain existing backend systems
• Test implemented software designs & systems
• Build and deploy backend server/cloud infrastructure provisioning
• Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve technology infrastructure
• Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
• Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
• Consult with peers for feedback during software and integration testing stages
• Document and design various processes; update existing processes that are key to service delivery
• Improve infrastructure development and application development
• Follow all best practices and procedures as established by the company

Requirements and Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 4 years’ previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field
• Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations
• Experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL (My SQL), CI/CD tools. Experience also with programming such as JavaScript, PHP(CakePHP and Laravel), Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies
• JavaScript, NodeJS, Postgres, MongoDb
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Jenkins or similar automation frameworks
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or similar technologies
• Write scripts and automation using Perl/Python/Groovy/Java/Bash
• Configure and manage data sources like Postgres, Mongo, Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, Hadoop
• Certification in any of the top 3 cloud platforms e.g AWS, GCP or Azure
• Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with technology
• Exceptional team management skills
• Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future.
