Role Purpose
Support the programme team to ensure commitment and involvement of relevant stakeholders (local authorities and community members) before, during and after program implementation. Ensure stakeholders are properly mobilized in the communities we are working to ensure participation and sustainability of our programs.
Key Areas of Accountability:
Support the identification of volunteers in the communities by the community leaders
Facilitate volunteers’ training (and other training as per request)
Support and mentor community volunteers to carry out their activities on community sensitization, screening and follow up of cases on treatment
Under mentorship and guidance of the Community Mobilization Coordinator, meet regularly with local leaders
Lead on planning and implementation of feedback mechanisms with leaders, communities and beneficiaries
Work on education materials for activities
Coordinate activities with OTP officers
Link with other organisations present in the area
Plan logistics and materials needed for the activities to be carried out
Prepare a monthly plan of field activities
Ensure timely collection, compilation and analysis of quality data as well as production of quantitative and qualitative reports regarding all CM activities (by SC staff and CV)
Produce case studies related to CM, at least once per quarter or as per the line manager’s request
Identify the problems in the implementation process and propose solutions
Evaluate regularly the impact of the activities and propose changes for improvement
Prepare activities’ reports
Supervises and mentor Community Mobilization Assistant assigned

Skills and Experience
Administrative & General Skills:
Minimum of BSc / HND in Mass Communication, English or relevant Social Sciences qualification
At least 2 years post NYSC relevant experience in community mobilization
Previous experience with other local and international NGOs
Fluency in English and Hausa, spoken and written
Excellent communication skills; spoken and written
Experience working in multi-sectoral environment
Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
Ability to work in partnership with government and other I/NGO’s staff
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work within a team setting
Independence, adaptability and flexibility
Understanding of Kanuri language will be an advantage
Working Conditions
Ability and willingness to travel to projects and stay in basic conditions when necessary
